With the report of this recent death, the death toll of naegleria victims in Sindh has been pegged at 7. The deceased was 29 year old Adil Najam, a resident of the Rafah-e-Aam society, imam of the local masjid, and an employee at a petrol station. He was admitted when he was already in a very critical state.
Dr. Zafar Ijaz, Executive District Officer of Health Karachi, said that water samples had been collected from his residence and the surrounding area. Laboratory results are expected in a few days.
