For healthy & beautiful hair the power lies in hair oil. Hair oil is known to be a great natural conditioner along with having the ability to nourish your hair follicles for soft and healthy hair locks.
Pakistanis have already mastered the art of oiling hair from a very young age and through multiple generations. There are do’s and don’ts for every beauty regimen – we are here to tell you that there is a ‘right way’ to oil your hair.
DO – Give your scalp the attention
Hair oil is the most beneficial to the roots of your hair. When oil is massaged into the scalp, it enters the cuticles of your hair to nourish it from the root to the tip. It also increases or stimulates the blood flow to scalp, and strands.
DO- Keep a routine
Figure out how many times a week you should oil your hair, if you have fine hair and an oily scalp try oiling your hair every other week, if you have thick hair and a dry scalp, you can oil your hair once a week.
DO – Use hair oil for multi-purpose
In addition to being a deep natural conditioner, hair oil can also be used for finishing touches to styled hair. Once your hair is dry, you can use a few drops of oil to keep the shine intact. Only use it on the lengths, not your scalp and you’ll have great shiny hair all day.
DON’T – Forget Timing
Oiling hair is very beneficial, but most people leave it on for too long. After a certain amount of time, the oil has already worked its magic, it makes no sense to leave it on longer. You should leave the oil in your hair for 30 minutes to an hour before you wash your hair. Do not leave hair oil on your scalp overnight as it can attract dust, make hair strands weak, and can seep into the skin causing breakouts and acne.
DON’T – Overuse the gem
Overusing oil can weigh down your lovely locks and increase the greasiness of your scalp.
DON’T – Use your palm on your scalp
Rubbing your scalp with your palm can be hard and break hair strands. Always use your fingers.
