How do sleeping positions affect your skin?

We all know that a good night’s sleep is a secret to healthy and glowy skin as it is the only time when the skin heals and develops new collagen. But did you know that certain sleeping positions can trigger age? Yes, that’s right sleeping in a bad position can trigger wrinkles, acne, and more.

It really does matter how you sleep, and below we have highlighted some sleeping position and their effect on the skin.

Sleeping on Your Stomach

Sleeping on the stomach is the worst position to sleep in. This position pushes the whole face into the pillow which can block the skin follicle and stop the blood circulation. This can cause clogged pores, acne, pimples, and wrinkles.

Sleeping on Your Side

Sleeping on your side is way better than sleeping on your stomach as it can cause less damage to the skin. But this still isn’t the ideal position as your whole weight is pushed on one side. This can flatten the cheekbones that can trigger wrinkles.

Sleeping on Your Back

This position is the best position to sleep in. This position allows proper blood circulation on the face region which will prevent fewer fine lines, less flattening of the facial contours, and a smoother face as you are not applying much pressure on facial skin. Bonus point; your skincare products won’t transfer in the pillowcase, which means your skin will receive the full-on effect of the skincare regimen.
