Fitness Mistakes that Keep You from Getting in Shape
You may think you’ve been doing all the right things to get in shape, but the fitness plan that you are following might just not be working for you. Check out some common fitness mistakes that might be hindering you from achieving the ideal weight and shape.
1. Skipping Breakfast
You must have heard before, ‘breakfast is the most important meal of the day’. But do you know how and why? Your body is short of nutrients when you wake up in the morning and when you don’t eat healthy breakfast your body starts breaking down muscles for energy. Since your muscles are your metabolism, breaking down of muscle energy weakens your body’s ability to burn calories. If you eat a balanced and healthy breakfast, you are less likely to over-eat later in the day, and stay fit and healthy throughout the day.
2. Poor Eating Habits
One of the fitness mistakes that keep you from getting in shape is a poor diet plan. Eating too little or over-eating, both the conditions are unhealthy to your body and may cause you gain weight. When you skimp on breakfast and do the same with lunch, you are likely to overeat by the time dinner comes around. Ultimately, you end up eating the heaviest meal at the end of the day yet preventing to burn calories. This causes you to gain weight.
3. Getting Stuck on Time
How long do you workout? Do you think that fifteen minutes of workout is not enough to get the results and you have to exercise for an hour at least? Well that’s not an excuse. Even if you have kids or you work full time, an hour long workout is not required unless you are exercising regularly. Something is better than nothing you must have heard. So, plan your time wisely and squeeze fifteen to twenty minutes of workout in your daily routine. Establish a flexible workout plan even if it is of twenty minutes.
4. Focusing on the Scale
Don’t get obsessed with the number you want to see on the scale. The number on the scale does not always represent the way you really look. Exercise properly. Losing five pounds of fat and building five pounds of muscle won’t move the scale.
How you look and feel is more important than the number on the scale. Stop focusing on the scale and see how an old pair of jeans fits you.
5. Missing on Zzz…
One of the fitness mistakes you make is not taking proper sleep. If you are doing everything perfectly, having a good diet plan, exercising well and following the right workout pattern, then think what else you are missing out. Your perfectly toned body shape might be a victim of your poor sleeping patterns. Destress your mind and sleep at least eight hours a day to stay fit and active.
Make sure you sleep for the recommended sleeping hours because excessive sleep can also be harmful to health.
If you are dieting and working out and still not reaching your goal to get in shape, make sure you are not making any of these common fitness mistakes.
