Drought and epidemics in Tharparkar are taking the lives of children every day. Today, a 2 month old child has died in Civil Hospital Mithi, raising the death toll to 362.
Today, a young girl has perished in Mithi Civil Hospital, whereas three children died yesterday: two infants in Mithi Civil Hospital and one girl in Chachoro. The death count in this month of February has gone up to 16. Changing weather is increasing the problems and causing more diseases in children, which may raise death tolls. However, emergency units still have not been activated in the district. 48 children are fighting for their lives in Civil Hospital Mithi, 40 in Islamkot – Nagarparkar, while 37 children are under treatment in Diplo and Chachro. More than 70 children have been shifted to Hyderabad and Civil Hospital Karachi.
