Larkana: Temperatures have been recorded at 46 degrees while it is predicted that they may rise to 51 degrees. Residents of these areas have no choice but to stay at home or in the parks to escape the intense heat. Cold beverages and frozen products are being consumed in high quantities in efforts to beat the heat. The demand for ice blocks has also increased exponentially. Before the advent of the heat wave, ice blocks were available for Rs. 150; prices have now soared up to Rs. 400. Incessant load shedding has only served to make the whole situation even more unbearable for the locals.
