Study: Type 2 Diabetes Affects Cognitive Ability
A new study explains the relation of type 2 diabetes and one’s cognitive ability: emotions, thoughts and behavior.
Researchers reviewed 60 studies of individuals with type 2 diabetes control group and examined their performance. Decreased quality of life and complications were observed in patients of this disease. Professionals encourage patients to monitor their diet, check blood sugar and adhere to medication schedules. As seniors make up the highest demographics, experts suggest them to engage in cognitive stimulating activities and staying physically active. Many patients of this disease experience burn-out and inability in self-management. Currently 600 million and by 2030, 800 million would be living with this disease.
