Research: Sleeping More Than Eight Hours May Cause Stroke


People who sleep for more than eight hours a day have an increased risk of stroke, according to a study by the University of Cambridge – and this risk doubles for older people who persistently sleep longer than average.

They researchers came to this conclusion after multiple observations of their subjects from 1998 till 2004. They also discovered that sleeping less or more than 8 hours usually result in subjects being less active. However, the researchers say it is unclear why these associations exist and call for further research to explore the link.
