Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif visited the GHQ along with several other officials to be briefed about the proceedings and progress of Zarb-e-Azb. He was updated about the situation in Meeranshah and how 35 extremists had been killed while they tried to flee. He was also informed that efforts to speed up the operation were underway.
