Pakistanis could face an international travel ban due to spread of polio

Despite the efforts of the government, spread of polio virus is still on the rise in various parts of the country. The incidence of polio has increased by a shocking 600% since last year, with the total number of reported cases reaching 58 since the beginning of the year 2014. The World Health Organization held an urgent 4-day meeting to discuss the situation at hand, and is scheduled to release revised guidelines on how to curb and eliminate the polio virus. It is feared that placing an international travel ban on Pakistanis maybe one of the pointers mentioned in W.H.O’s document.
