The Paramedical Staff Association launched a series of protests and dharnas at The City Hospital, Lady Wellington Hospital, and Civil Hospital Khairpur. Doctors also participated in the protest. The association said that often the civilians would storm the hospital, behave rudely with the staff, and sometimes even attack them. All of this was a terrible hurdle to the peace and harmony required at a healthcare institution where the staff was trying its hardest to treat patients and cure them. The association has refused to call off protests until the civilians responsible for the havoc are arrested. The context behind these protests has been identified as follows: two unidentified persons fired at Haider Ali Durrani on Maal road and severely wounded him. His family rushed him to Civil Hospital where they found the staff to be asleep. They proceeded to damage property in anger.
