With the water board unable to provide adequate water and with pumping stations rendered useless due to fluctuating electricity, Karachiites have been left to fend for themselves in the current water shortage crisis. Karachiites are being forced to turn to water tankers and boring machines to meet their needs. While the water board touts fluctuating electricity problems as the reason for insufficient supply, K-Electric has claimed that the electricity cables at the pumping stations are to blame. They have also stated that it is the water board’s responsibility to get these cables replaced so that the pumping stations can operate effectively.
