Funds have not yet been released for the Civil Hospital incinerator machine, due to which a new machine has not been bought. All medical waste is being sold.
As per details, the incinerator is inoperable since the last two months. The Sindh Minister of Health, took notice on 29th November and told the Secretary of Health to release funds for the incinerator. However, even after two months the funds have not been provided. According to sources, the medical waste is therefore being sold out to recycling industry by the staff, which is becoming a source for the spread of diseases. The Secretary of Health has informed that the cost would soon be analyzed and funds would soon be provided.
