Instructions of Ensuring Transmission Security
The Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has asked for the technical report of the current electricity breakdown within 48 hours. He said that a complete, comprehensive system should be implemented to handle such situations in future. He said that the high voltage transmission lines should be secured on a permanent basis.
A seminar on energy crisis was held in Islamabad in which the supply and demand of electricity and furnace oil were taken in consideration. In the seminar, it was decided to extend the contract by providing Karachi with 650 megawatts. The Prime Minister and the present members were briefed about the current energy crisis. The PM asked the related authorities to provide a report of the crisis within 48 hours and said that steps should be taken to avoid any such shutdown in the future. He said that the high voltage transmission lines must be secured.
