The Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Institute of Cardiology, due to the ignorance of department of health, does not have a specialized club of doctors. Its cardiograph machines have not been repaired, due to the lack of funds. Other than this, its PC4 has not been accepted yet, so Sindh government Lyari General Hospital doctors are currently looking after the patients.
The Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Institute of Cardiology was made by the previous government and President at that time. Asif Ali Zardari himself inaugurated the institute. In the PC1 of the project, it was decided that a two floor building would be made, but the work and services department has only completed a single floor with no lifts or ramps. The work has been left incomplete. Therefore its PC4 cannot be accepted. According to sources, after the PC4 the stage for SNE would come which would allow the hospital human resources and finance. Currently, the institute is working under the Sindh government Lyari General Hospital, though in the long run it will run as an independent institute. Every day, more than 200 patients come to the hospital who are checked by the Sindh governments Lyari General Hospital. The hospital has modern machinery but doesn’t have staff to run it. Currently there is a need of 22 specialized club doctors, 15 nurses and 40 paramedical staff.
