Hepatitis On The Rise Due To Use of Reused Syringes

An alarming number of residents of Dost Mohammad Khaskheli, a locality in Malir (Karachi), have become infected by Hepatitis B and C. The cause being cited is reused needles. A medical camp was set up in the city in which 300 residents, including 150 children and 75 women, were examined. It was discovered that at least 52 residents tested positive for both strains of hepatitis. It was also found that most of those who tested positive were women.
