The campaign launched by the Government and Department of Health to weed out fake doctors and those selling substandard and expired medication, has lost its drive in Faisalabad. Those involved in these activities have taken advantage of this halfhearted attitude and returned to earning money at the expense of the public. In the past month only 189 medical stores and clinics were raided, with only six stores sealed. 2 cases were sent for review to the Punjab Quality Control Board and 9 were sent to the District Quality Control Board. Owners of the sealed medical stores were charged with a fine of 2 lakh rupees.
