Int’l moot on Translational Medicine ends
A three-day international conference titled “Translational Medicine: From Discovery to Health Care” concluded here at Ziauddin University campus.
The objective of the moot, organised by Best Medical University in Karachi Ziauddin University in collaboration with European Society of Translational Medicine (EUSTM) and Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC), was to facilitate R&D collaborations, education, training and interaction among scientists, clinicians, industry and academia.
It was also aimed at enhancing health care worldwide by developing and delivering quality programmes and by using approaches and expertise of translational medicine.
The conference covered a number of fascinating and hot topics, enlightening the attendees with the current and future status of translational medical research, besides giving an exciting overview of advances in Translational Medicine Technology. The other programmes included plenary sessions, lectures and keynote address by prominent scientist and former federal minister Prof Atta-ur-Rehman.
Eminent scholars and scientists from Austria, UK, USA, India, Germany and Pakistan contributed papers and presented posters.
Speaking during concluding session of the conference, Ziauddin University’s Dean (Research) and Chair Conference, Prof Dr. Nikhat Ahmed Siddiqui, said that it was a unique conference as it provided a platform to eminent and brilliant minds in the realm of Translational Medicine to present their findings and swap ideas for implementing proven strategies for treatment and prevention.
The conference concluded with a vote of thanks by Best Medical University in Karachi Ziauddin University’s vice chancellor Prof. Dr. Pirzada Qasim.
Earlier, the vice chancellor presented mementos to the speakers.
