Rehab Centers in Pakistan
There are many institutions that make up a social set up. Starting from commercial areas, primary, secondary and tertiary medical centers, the institutions stretch to schools, colleges, universities and places of worship (mosques, churches etc). However, a social set up is never complete without an equipped rehabilitation center.
Physical medicine and rehabilitation includes various therapies to help a person restore function after illness or injury. These therapies can include
• Physical therapy
• Occupational therapy
• Speech therapy
A rehabilitation center will offer one or more of these therapies on premises. A rehabilitation center may be outpatient only. Some hospitals offer in-patient rehabilitation.

Many other private rehabs also have a very extensive treatment program. They have specific programs for different addictions. The treatments plans also include outdoor sports activities to take the patient’s mind away from drugs and towards healthy activities.
“When an individual chooses Emaan, our goal is to directly address the disease of alcoholism and/or drug addiction and our approach involves professional addiction treatment such as cognitive-behavior therapy, family therapy, support groups, and other individual counseling services. It also includes other activities designed to strengthen the mind, body and spirit.”
Cognitive Therapy is based on the cognitive model, which states that thoughts, feelings and behavior are all connected, and that individuals can move toward overcoming difficulties and meeting their goals by identifying and changing unhelpful or inaccurate thinking, problematic behavior, and distressing emotional responses. The patient and therapist collaborate and develop skills for testing and modifying beliefs, identifying distorted thinking, relating to others in different ways, and changing behaviors.
Family therapy is a type of psychological counseling (psychotherapy) that helps family members improve communication and resolve conflicts.
They have many branches all over Pakistan. They work with the concept ‘Bridge the Gap’: When a client enters into a treatment , a wildly important goal is set after a full fledge assessment, giving the team, client himself and client’s family a direction in which they all need to move together. Afterwards specific programs are assigned to clients that are headed by program experts.
These rehabs help people discover their inner selves, recognize their ability, and help them realize that they are important to the society. Patients after the treatment often continue education, or get employed. They re-form the ties with their families and friends, and carry on a stable life.
However, drug and alcohol detox (withdrawals) can be life threatening and should only be conducted by well qualified, licensed professionals. Drug withdrawal symptoms can be physical and emotional.
