Craving for good food and looking at your love handles? It’s alright; you can go for healthy food and satisfy your taste buds at the same time. If you love makai ki roti you will surely like besan ki roti as well. You can eat besan ki roti with anything such as daal, but its combination with lehsun ki chutney is just mind blowing. Besan ki roti is basically just flat bread with lots of flavor and is a healthy option as it contains protein.

Besan is basically gram flour which is made out of peas which we all know is rich in protein. It is all up to your taste, how you want to make it. You can simply make it like makai ki roti without any spices or onions or add everything that you like.

It is better to try the simpler one first since it is hard to handle and may break into pieces if you flip it too often.

Besan Ki Roti

There are several ways of making besan ki roti and you can always change a few ingredients, but here is an easy recipe for you to get an idea of it. You may use gram flour without whole wheat flour to make it completely gluten free.

Ingredients:

Method:

  1. Sieve gram flour and wheat flour. Mix both of them.
  2. Make dough by adding all the ingredients in a bowl, except from ghee.
  3. Knead the dough for a while and put it aside for 10 minutes to let it set.
  4. Make small balls out of the dough and roll them into round chapatis.
  5. Heat up a bit of ghee on a nonstick pan and make the roti. You can use butter or olive oil instead of ghee if you really want to lose weight.
  6. Serve hot!

Lehsun Ki Chutney

Lehsun ki chutney is available in superstores, but nothing can beat a homemade one. You can always change the spices according to your taste. Mustard powder and tomato puree can also be added along with other spices.

Ingredients:

Method:

  1. Grind garlic into a smooth paste.
  2. Add all the ingredients to the garlic paste.
  3. Blend it further to give it a fine texture.
  4. Store it in an air tight jar.
  5. Garnish with coriander and ginger.
  6. Serve!

Note: Don’t add water. Adjust the consistency with yoghurt. You can also add mint to the chutney to give it an extra flavor.

Try this recipe at home and you will eventually get the hang of it and then make it your own way. Make sure that you use a non-stick pan if you are not a pro, so that you do not have a hard time flipping it over.
