Chicken Nuggets
Chicken nuggets are a popular snack food available at fast food restaurants across the world. Here’s how to make them at home, with wholesome ingredients and without any preservatives. Nuggets are made from minced chicken that is flavored with spices & herbs after which they are crumb-coated and fried.
Ingredients:
For Nuggets
- 600 grams chicken mince
- 2 bread slices
- 1 tablespoon oil
- Salt, to taste
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 tablespoon soya sauce
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 2 eggs
For Coating
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- Salt, to taste
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 cup flour
- 2 eggs, whisked
- Oil, for frying
Method:
- In a food processer add the chicken mince, bread slices and oil. Pulse 2-3 times.
- Open the processor handle, and mix with a spoon. Add salt, black pepper, red chili powder, soya sauce, vinegar and eggs. Blend till mixed together.
- Remove the chicken mince in a bowl. Keep in the fridge for about 30 minutes to make it easy to handle.
- Take the breadcrumbs in a bowl. Add salt, black pepper and red chili powder. Set aside.
- Drizzle a few drops of oil and start shaping the chicken nuggets.
- Coat with flour, egg and then the seasoned bread crumbs.
- Heat oil in for shallow frying in a pan.
- Fry till golden and crispy. Make sure the flame is medium, otherwise the outside will be burnt and the inside will be raw.
