Raw (unpasteurized) milk can contain potentially harmful and deadly pathogens. Children, elderly, pregnant women and people with weakened immune systems have the highest risk of contracting illness from these pathogens.

People have been consuming raw milk, and proposing a hypothetical explanation that it cures diseases and increases immunity. However, there is no evidence to support the claims. Experts claim that the benefits of drinking it in the raw and pasteurized form are same, but the raw form may be risky to drink as it may contain pathogens.
