The attack was launched near the eastern bypass as the polio team’s vehicle was crossing thearea. Unidentified individuals fired at the vehicle causing 4 casualties. 3 of the deceased werefemale polio workers.
3 other team members were injured in the attack. Following this incident,the anti-polio campaign has been put on hold for an indefinite period of time by the authorities.The other polio workers in Baluchistan have also declared their intent to boycott the campaignuntil adequate security is not provided.
