The Polio Eradication campaign could not start in sixty nine union councils in three districts of Karachi, even on the third day of the campaign, due to a lack of security.
As per details, the three districts of Karachi, Malir, East and West, the vaccinations could not start due to lack of security, even on the third day of the campaign. The campaign could not begin in Jamshed Town UC 10, SITE UC 6 and Malir UC 5 and 7. In these districts, it was decided to provide vaccines to more than 9 lakh children. In the second stage, starting from 23rd January 2015, the vaccinations would be provided in Gulshan UC 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8 and 9; whereas in 11 sensitive union councils the campaign would start form 24th January 2015.
