Faisalabad, like other cities of Punjab, is also facing extreme petrol shortage; due to this shortage the public is facing various extreme problems.
Recently, the PARCO Refinery remained closed for two days due to technical issues, creating a breakdown in supply to PSO petrol pumps. This disruption turned petrol into a scarce commodity in various areas of Punjab. In Faisalabad, petrol pumps are closed while the ones open are selling petrol at much higher prices. Few places, where the petrol is being sold at official prices are filled with crowds. Meanwhile, the DCO has ordered actions against petrol pump owners who are selling petrol on higher prices or are involved in creating artificial petrol shortage.
