Due to the negligence of the contractor involved, the canteens designated for Pakistani hajjis have been sold off by the Saudi government. There has been no proper food service for the 6500 Pakistanis in Makkah since the 26th of September.
The hajjis have been sourcing food from far off locations to make do. According to reports, these hajjis had already paid for their food for the entire duration of the hajj trip in Pakistan, and are housed in six buildings under the official quota.
The director general of the hajj operation has remained silent on the issue, while other senior officials have said that arrangements will be made within the next 2-3 days.
