Rauf Siddique, Minister of Trade and Industry, issued orders for the drain-cleaning activities in industrial zones to start of the monsoon season. In a meeting held at his office, the minister stated that the cleaning work in industrial zones such as S.I.T.E and Korangi should be completed with haste. He added that hygiene should not be compromised during the cleaning activities, and industrial waste should not overflow into the streets. The minister added that if the drains did overflow during the monsoon season, the concerned engineers would be held accountable and action would be taken against them.
