The latest targets of this highly contagious disease are Thatta and Sajawal, where inadequate medical facilities have resulted in the deaths of 26 children while more than 700 are still battling the disease.

Sindh Department of Health was unable to provide vaccinations and other preventative medications to more than 30 districts in Sindh. Moreover, several villages located near the coastal and mountainous regions have yet to be supplied with adequate medication to combat the spread of the disease. Lack of preparation on the part of the concerned authorities has lead to this massive outbreak of measles, which shows no signs of losing ground.

Health experts, who have been following the alarming situation in the province, state that two factors are facilitating the spread of measles: malnutrition and lack of clean drinking water.
