Kashmor: Sale Of Illegal Medicines From India

204

Recent reports have uncovered the robust trade of selling illegal medicines from across the border in the areas of Kandhkot, Kashmor and Jacobabad. The smuggled medicines are substandard in quality and often expired. They are brought in from Lahore and then distributed to different locations in interior Sindh. The police have so far been silent on this issue despite the major risk it poses to the lives of the citizens of these areas. It has been alleged that security personnel are paid Rs. 5000-10,000 to allow the medicines to go through to interior Sindh to be sold in the open markets. Along with substandard medicines, poor quality alcohol is also being smuggled and sold to the public.
