A three-day Polio eradication campaign will begin from 24th February 2015, in 49 union councils of Karachi. In 8 of the more sensitive union councils of Karachi, the campaign will begin earlier.
According to the Director of IPO Sindh, Manzhar Khamisani, during the campaign, 685000 children under the age of 5 will be provided Polio vaccines in the 49 union councils of the city. In 8 of the more sensitive union councils of Karachi, the campaign will begin from the 21st and 22nd of February. Strict security measures have been taken for the campaign.
