Governor of Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad, addressed the participants at the first senate gathering of Jinnah Medical College at the Governor House. He agreed with the 50-50 quota system for female and male medical students. He said that the system of merit selection will be upheld and sustained because the country needs competent and talented graduates to provide quality healthcare to the population. Dr.Ishrat-ul-Ibad also said that the issue of fewer male doctors could be solved by the formation of a boys’ medical college. He stated that it was the duty of educational institutes to not only produce accomplished graduates but also to provide ample opportunities and facilities to the population.
