Arsenal, Aston Villa in the FA Cup Final

Arsenal Football Club and Aston Villa Football Club qualify for the final of the FA Cup. Alexis Sanchez scored his 21st and 22nd goal of the season to cap his brilliant performance. Mesut Ozil provided assists for both goals.

This will be Arsenal’s record 19th appearance in the cup final, more than any other club in the history of the competition.

On Sunday, Steven Gerrard’s Liverpool FC lost to a rejuvenated Aston Villa side at Wembley Stadium. Liverpool took the lead with talisman Phillipe Coutinho in the 30th minute. Tim Sherwood’s side equalized, courtesy of in-form striker Christian Benteke, six minutes after conceding. 11 minutes after the restart Fabian Delph scored Aston Villa’s second goal. The final score was 2-1 to Aston Villa.

Arsenal and Aston Villa battle it out for club supremacy on May, 30th 2015 at the Wembley Stadium. Arsenal being the defending champions will be looking to keep the title in London, but Aston Villa won’t surely back off without a fight.

Spurs Climb up the Points Table with Win

In the Barclays Premier League, Tottenham Hotspurs climb to the 6th spot on the Barclays Premier League table with a 3-1 victory over Newcastle United. Nacer Chadli opened the scoring for Spurs in the 30 minute with a sublime long range effort. Newcastle United came back to equalize, courtesy of Jack Colback right after the restart.

Cristian Eriksen made it 2-1 in the 56th minute, while Harry Kane scored in the 90th minute to take his tally to 20 goals in the league and 30 for the season. In the other game, Manchester City beat West Ham 2-0 and is now one point behind Manchester United in the fourth-spot. James Collins’ own-goal opened the scoring for City and Sergio Ageuro doubled the lead with a goal of his own.
