So, when was the last time you made a speech? Took up a new activity? or tried new things? When was the last time you left your comfort zone in order to gain something?

The Frustration Wall

We can understand and relate to the fact that the experience of trying something new can be frustrating and daunting at the start. It makes one feel insecure, ridiculous and uncomfortable and this is the reason why most people never move out of their comfort zone. For the sake of this article let’s call this phenomenon the ‘Frustration Wall.’ This is the wall that most people create around themselves, a wall that prevents them from trying new things and stops them from venturing out of their comfort zone. The thing about the frustration wall is that once you manage to jump over it, it moves on to become an enjoyable process, more importantly jumping over the frustration wall also benchmarks great personal growth. You may be surprised to know, but if you all the successful people around you then all of them would have one thing in common, all of them prevailed jumping over their frustration wall, by going out of their comfort zone. Though the reason most people never seem to go beyond their comfort zone is because they expect difficult and unrealistic things from themselves, they start believing that they would be good at something from the instant they start which isn’t possible for some. They get their hopes up and then what happens? They lose hope, after realizing they can’t do something. Has something like that ever happened to you?  This is a rather invalid belief, because to be good at something you need to invest time in something, you need dedication, you need discipline,  you need to look into your soul and make a commitment, that no matter what happens, you will get through it.  Most people feel insecure and inadequate at the start but it is a promise, once you’ve got the discipline and you’re focused, there’s nothing that you cannot do in this world.  But where to start with all this? What’s the solution to this mystery? The solution is research and learning your material well before hand, read numerous guides and testimonials from others in your situation and in the end you will succeed in jumping over your frustration wall.

So the point of the article here is to try new things and push yourself over your frustration wall, as you need to remember that it is just an imaginary wall that we build around us and it is only through our own personal effort that we can learn to jump over it. Don’t be afraid of trying new things, you will get the hang of it once you get into it. Everything takes time, as if there was any other way around it. Have you heard the phrase, “Rome wasn’t built in a day”? What does it tell you? What message do you extract from it? Think about it, the world in inadequate for people who are out of their comfort zone.
