DC Central, Dr. Saif-ur-Rehman has informed that polio campaign would start again between 19 to 22nd January and that actions would be taken against any school which refused to cooperate.
Speaking at a news conference, the DC Central Karachi said that more than 300,000 children would be provided with polio vaccines. In this regard, one thousand 1,173 volunteer teams would participate, while 190 permanent polio eradication campaign centers would be made. He stressed that it would be the responsibility of the officers and volunteers to convince the people, who do not allow the teams to give the vaccines to their children, by the help of scholars of the relevant area. He informed that officers’ ignorance towards the polio eradication campaign would not be tolerated and strict action would be taken against them. Meetings would be called on daily basis to monitor the polio campaign and Police and rangers would be deployed in large number in the district central, during the whole campaign.
