Sobhraj Hospital has now resumed its operations after being dormant for 7 years. The hospital was unequipped and was suffering from funding but recently gained interest and resumed its operations. Among the departments, OPD, Child Health Department have started functioning and the NICU has also been equipped with ten incubators as of now.
The hospital is located between Burns road and Urdu Bazaar, in Saddar Town (Karachi). It was established in 1928 by a philanthropist Sobhraj Chetumal, in the memory of his wife – Kishan Devi Sobhraj. Initially, the hospital had a maternity ward and a dispensary. However, now it has expanded.
