How to Use:

  1. Almond oil mixed with vitamin E and honey can be directly applied under the eyes over night.
  2. Rinse with cold water in the morning.

Cucumber for Dark Circles

One of the best home treatment for dark circles is cucumber. You might have seen people in spa with cucumber slices on their eyes. Cucumbers have skin lightening and moderate stringent properties. This makes cucumbers perfect for helping with dark circles. Not only that they also give your skin a soothing and refreshing effect. Cooling effect of cucumbers constricts blood vessels under the eyes that help right before you get ready to go out.

How to Use:

  1. Just grab a cold cucumber cut two thick slices and put on your eyes and relax for fifteen minutes.
  2. This can be done once or twice every day.

However, cucumbers are not really known to reverse dark circles, only helps temporarily.

Raw potato

Potatoes contain vital bleaching agent and raw potatoes can be used to reduce dark circles. They also reduce excessive puffiness under the eyes.

How to Use:

  1. Place a couple of potatoes in fridge before you use them for treatment.
  2. Grate cold potatoes and extract its juice.
  3. Soak a cotton ball into the juice and apply it in on your eyes. (Make sure the cotton you use is good quality.)
  4. Let the juice dry for fifteen minutes and wash if off with cold water.
  5. Repeat this regularly to see the difference.

Rose water

Another easy home remedy for dark circles is rose water. Rose water helps with sore and red eyes. It also reduces puffiness and refreshes your skin. It has mild stringent properties which also makes it a good skin toner. It is also safe for use on children.

How to Use:

  1. Just soak in cotton ball and apply under your eyes.
  2. This should be repeated regularly and helps right before going out.

Tomato

Tomato is easily accessible and usually found at home. It has bleaching properties and helps with tan as well as dark circles.

How to Use:

  1. Add one teaspoon tomato juice mixed with one teaspoon lemon juice.
  2. Apply under your eyes and rinsed off in fifteen minutes.
  3. It can be applied all over your face too.
  4. This does not require to be done daily; 2-3 times a week is enough for a visible result.

All these ingredients are easily available at your home. Therefore, it is better to try these before you go for expensive under eye treatments. Apart from the home remedies, make sure you sleep for 6-8 hours a day in a comfortable environment. Disturbed sleeping pattern is often associated with dark circles and stress related acne. Stay hydrated. Aim to drink 8 glass of water daily. Also take special care of the skin under your eyes it is delicate than rest of this skin and tends to lose moisture more easily.
