Daily Rhythms and Bone Biology
Our daily routine directly affects our bone biology. The latest research have concluded that sleep apnea maybe a reason for osteoporosis, as it effects sleep duration and quality, oxygen levels and inflammation impacting the bone metabolism.
The relationship and increase in both sleep apnea and osteoporosis has been noted in the ‘Journal of Bone and Mineral Research Review.’ According to Dr. Eric Orwill, there is a strong relation between daily rhythms and bones biology. Adding to this, Dr. Christine Swanson said that if there is a relation between sleep apnea and bone metabolism, they would be helpful in diagnosing and treatment.
