Make your favorite crispy chicken burger in the comfort of your own house. Chicken fillets are marinated, and then a double crumb coat of flour, egg and breadcrumbs is done to ensure a crispy golden coating. Add mayonnaise, lettuce, tomatoes and of course cheese to make it even better.

Ingredients:

For Chicken

  • 2 chicken breast, sliced in half
  • 1 teaspoon garlic paste
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • ½ teaspoon red chili flakes

For Crumb Coating

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup flour
  • ½ cup cornflour
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • ½ teaspoon red chili flakes
  • Salt, to taste
  • ½ teaspoon mustard powder
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 4 leaves lettuce
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 4 slices cheese

Method:

  1. Slice chicken breast in half, making two pieces for each breast. If the chicken breast is too large, it can be sliced in three as well.
  2. Place the sliced chicken breast in a large bowl. Add garlic paste, salt, black pepper and red chili flakes.
  3. Mix the spices in the chicken and marinate for at least 20 minutes.
  4. In the meanwhile, prepare the coating for the chicken.
  5. Take eggs out in a shallow dish and add black pepper to taste. Whisk and set aside.
  6. In another shallow dish, add flour, cornflour, black pepper, red chili flakes, salt and mustard powder. Whisk and set aside.
  7. Heat oil on low-medium heat in a large wok, karahi or frying pan. Make sure it’s deep enough for the chicken to be deep-fried.
  8. Take out the marinated chicken and pick one slice of chicken breast. Coat chicken in egg followed by flour. Dip in egg and flour again for a double coating.
  9. Deep-fry the chicken on medium heat till golden brown on both sides, about 15 minutes. Make sure not to fry the chicken on too high heat, otherwise it will burn from the outside but remain raw from inside. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on kitchen towel.
  10. Apply mayonnaise on each side of bun, then put lettuce leave, sliced tomato, chicken and cheese slice. Finish it with other piece of bun on top.
