The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman, Shaharyar Khan, seeks assistance from the International Cricket Council (ICC) President, Zaheer Abbas, in order to help organize a series between archrivals Pakistan and India.

“I met with Zaheer Abbas recently and have asked him to use his authority to persuade the Indian Board to show some intent and confirm a series against us in December,” the PCB Chairman said.

Shaharyar Khan also added that,

“Zaheer Abbas is a respected person in our neighboring country and is also the ICC President. I have asked for his help. I’m confident that he will help us out and hopeful that a series will take place in the near future.”

Zaheer Abbas, keen to initiate a series between the two cricket juggernauts, said that,

“I will do my level best to organize a series. Being a former player, I also want the series to take place as it is not only beneficial for cricket but also for the Indo-Pak relations.”

Pakistan International T20 Captain, Shahid Khan Afridi, is set to make an appearance for Pakistan in a match against an Indian side led by Dinesh Mongia at the Aziz Rehmatullah Memorial Cup 2015, taking place in Houston, Texas.

The Pakistan team will be led by former Junior World Cup cricketer, Jann Nisar Khan. He represented Pakistan in three U-15 World Cups.

Jann Nisar Khan, currently playing in the USA Premier League, recently won the ‘Most Valuable Player’ award in the league. He scored a staggering 435 runs, courtesy of four 50’s and also bagged 19 wickets in 10 matches.
