However, almond oil for sure has mild laxative properties, which help regulate bowel movements and provide relief from constipation.

Almond oil can be helpful for your skin as well as hair.

EXFOLIATION OF DEAD SKIN

Almond oil has antioxidant and hydrating properties, which is the main reason why they form a common ingredient in several skin care and organic beauty products. It protects against free radical damage and livens up your skin by moisturizing it. Wherever the skin feels rough, dry or unpleasant, exfoliate with almond oil and rinse it off with water after 15 minutes.

A homemade scrub that refreshes the skin can also be made by adding a couple of teaspoons of brown sugar to lavender oil and almond oil.

FOR CHAPPED SKIN

Many use almond oil over chapped areas. The hydrating properties of almonds work as a great moisturizer, restoring skin and hydrating over the areas of skin that is cracked or rough. However, it is still oil, so be careful with the amount you use on your skin each day and make sure you rinse it with water and not let it do its work all day long. This is important especially if you have oily skin.

FOR PSORIASIS AND ECZEMA

Before the advancement of medicine to what it is now, our ancestors used to resort to herbal treatments, one of which was using almond oil for eczema and psoriasis. However, please consult a dermatologist if you have such a skin condition and are using almond oil.

ALMOND OIL AS A CONDITIONER

For softer and healthier locks, take about half or less than that of almond oil and warm it up in a microwave friendly jar. Makes sure it is lukewarm or you might end up burning yourself. Use a brush to coat strands of your hair from root to tip. When you have covered all strands, wrap your hair in a scarf or towel and leave it on for about 30 minutes. Rinse the oil properly followed by normal shampooing.

FOR HAIR GROWTH

When you massage your scalp with almond oil in a circular motion, it enhances blood circulation, which helps in hair growth. Pour some almond oil in a small bowl, dip your fingers in and massage your scalp firmly and gently throughout. Take 10 minutes to massage your scalp, and rinse it off after a short while.

FOR DANDRUFF

Even though almond oil doesn’t have antifungal properties, it makes an effective homemade therapy to treat dandruff, by keeping the scalp moisturized.

Add a few drops of tea tree oil to a cup of almond oil. Apply the nice base to your scalp and massage it in. Keep it on for about 20 minutes and rinse it off. This will help remove any excess microorganisms that may be causing dandruff.

Many massage therapists use almond oil to enhance the overall experience of the client. The aromatherapy relaxes the muscles and skin. The next time you are feeling tense in your muscles, apply some almond oil to the area.
