Stating the obvious: President emphasizes hygiene to be imperative for better healthcare

President Mamnoon Hussain chaired a high level meeting to review provision of healthcare services in the federal capital.

The president emphasized on improving the standards of hygiene and cleanliness at hospitals in Islamabad for the safety of patients.

According to him, to improve the health of patients in the hospitals, it is very important to ensure hygiene. Syringes should be disposed off after using once and innovative steps should be taken to improve the quality of hospitals and provide better service.

This meeting was called to improve the standards and existing state of affairs in public sector hospitals in the capital in coordination with all concerned departments. The president said that all the relevant departments will be in contact to improve the quality of the hospitals.

He also directed to form a spot-checking committee to inspect the provision of facilities and quality drugs in hospitals, and behavior of the staff with the patients.

The meeting was attended by the minister of state, Barrister Usman Ibrahim, capital administration, MNA Zeb Jaffer, secretary CADD, Khalid Hanif, Dr Javed Akram and high official of president’s secretariat.
