Nasal rinse also called a nasal wash or nasal lavage is designed to clear clogged sinus pathways. It is an ancient practice where the person uses the salt-water solution to force out bacteria and its growth in the sinus cavities.

What you need to do Nasal Rinse

  1. Nasal Rinse Bottle
  2. 250 ml of Lukewarm water
  3. 3 tsp Iodine free salt & 1 tsp baking soda, or 1 tsp Nasal Rinse premix

How to perform Nasal Rinse

  1. Take the nasal rinse bottle and lean forward over the sink, and tilt your head so that one nostril is pointed down toward the sink. Don’t tilt your head back.
  2. Place the spout of the bottle inside your nose, it shouldn’t go further than a finger’s width.
  3. Keeping your mouth open, squeeze the bottle to pour the water into your nostril. (Make sure to breathe through your mouth, not your nose)
  4. The saltwater will run through your nasal passages and drain out of your other nostril. You might get some of the water in your mouth, just spit it out. (Even if some does go down your throat, it won’t cause any damage)
  5. After rinsing, gently blow your nose to clear out the remaining solution. Repeat the procedure with your other nostril. When you’re done, throw away any leftover solution and thoroughly clean the bottle.
