Health minister voices concern over closure of Makkli dialysis centre
Voicing concern over sudden closure of Makkli Dialysis Center, Sindh Minister for Health Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has instructed provincial secretary health to get the Centre re-opened at the earliest.
Presiding over a meeting at his office, he said that the funds required for the dialysis centre should be released forthwith, besides all stakeholders must be taken on board to help resolve the issue on permanent basis.
Taking serious notice of a large number of diarrhea patients in Ibrahim Hyderi, he directed secretary health to ensure proper treatment to the patients who were reportedly affected by consuming contaminated water.
He also directed medical superintendent of Government Ibrahim Hyderi Hospital to leave no stone unturned in providing best possible treatment to all diarrhea patients admitted in the health facility.
At the outset of the meeting, the minister deplored over growing incidents of violence against healthcare providers, especially doctors, and stressed the need for promoting tolerance in the society.
He was of the view that unless we promote the culture of tolerance in the society we could not achieve our objective.
Terming medical profession ‘sacred’, he said that it was obligatory upon all of us to respect all those associated with this noble profession.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Health Dr Saeed Ahmed Mangnejo, Additional Secretary Dr Dabeer and other senior officers of health department.
