Another Game-week of stunning goals, mesmerizing football and wise tactics comes to end in the world’s most watched football league, the Barclay’s Premier League.

In case you missed any of the fixtures, don’t you worry; this article is your one-stop to reliving the highlights of Game-week 2.

MANCHESTER UNITED – SCRAPPY BUT VICTORIOUS

Manchester United came out 1-0 winners, as Belgian attacker Adnan Januzaj scored the only goal courtesy of some neat control and presence of mind in the attacking third. Juan Mata made the assist for that particular goal. Dutch international, Memphis Depay’s effort went agonizingly wide off the right post, a footage he wouldn’t want to see again. Villa played short spans of good football but couldn’t continue their winning start.

EVERTON SCORE THREE GOALS, SECURE THREE POINTS

A brace from Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku and a goal from England international Ross Barkley were enough to secure three points from Southampton. Everton manager Roberto Martinez expressed his gratitude and was very impressed and happy for what his players did on the pitch.

SPURS, STOKE SHARE POINTS AT WHITE HART LANE

Stoke City came from two goals down to salvage a point at White Hart Lane. Eric Dier opened the scoring for the home side on 19 minutes. Nacer Chadli doubled the lead close to half-time. Stoke winger Arnautovic reduced the deficit to one after scoring from the penalty-spot. Former Manchester United Mame Diouf equalized on the 83rd minute.

ANOTHER GAME, ANOTHER WIN FOR LEICESTER

Last season’s surprise package Leicester City are going sky-high as they record their second win in two games. This time West Ham ended up losing the game by 2-1. Okazaki and Mahrez were on the score-sheet for Leicester, whilst Payet scored for West Ham. West Ham will also be without Adrian, as he was on the receiving end of a red card late in the game.

GOMIS, AYEW SCORE IN SWANSEA WIN

Swansea City continued their good start to the season as they recorded a 2-0 win against Newcastle, courtesy of goals for Gomis and Andre Ayew.

SUNDERLAND IN DISARRAY AS NORWICH WIN

Newly promoted Norwich City scored three at the Stadium of Light to beat Sunderland. Martin, Whittaker and Redmond scored for the Canaries, whilst Watmore grabbed a consolation goal in the 88th minute for Dick Advocaat’s side.

WATFORD, WEST BROM SHARE POINTS

The only game of the weekend which didn’t have goals to show was between Quique Flores’ Watford and Tony Pulis’ West Bromwich Albion. Final score was 0-0 at Vicarage Road.

ARSENAL WIN AT SELHURST PARK

Arsenal recorded their first points of the season as they beat Alan Pardew’s Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. French striker Olivier Giroud opened the scoring with a beautifully executed scissors kick goal, Mesut Ozil with the assist. James Ward of Crystal Palace equalized in the 28th minute. On 56th minutes, Delaney scored an own goal which resulted in an Arsenal victory. Final score was 1-2 for Arsenal.

MANCHESTER CITY RAMPANT AT THE ETIHAD

The most awaited game of the weekend was between last year’s runners up Manchester City and the champions, Chelsea. Manchester City, with an attacking mentality towards the game, pushed from the start as Sergio Aguero shot was saved by Chelsea’s keeper Asmir Begovic. Aguero opened the scoring in the 32nd minute, with a smart finish from his left foot. Captain Vincent Kompany headed in a corner from David Silva raising the lead to two in the 79th minute, whilst Fernandinho made the points all but certain for City as he scored the third on 85 minutes. Final score 3-0 to Manchester City

BENTEKE SCORES FIRST GOAL AT ANFIELD IN LIVERPOOL WIN

Liverpool were impressive against newly promoted side AFC Bournemouth as they beat them 1-0. The only goal of the game was scored by Christian Benteke. With two wins in two, Liverpool will be looking to continue this in the upcoming matches as well.
