Five movies you should watch with your friends this Friendship Day

Today, the world celebrates a day designated to one of the most sought-after and cherished human relations after family bond – friendship.

Though if you are surrounded by good friends, every day is a friendship day, I still feel that taking out one day to thank your friends for being there in your life makes sense.

One of my favorite things to do with my friends is to watch movies together. I guess the H entertainment of the movie excels itself if you have a bunch of goofballs around to laugh or cry with, depending on the movie you watch. Therefore, for this Friendship Day, I bring to you the top five movies you can watch with your friends and have tons of fun together.

Cocktail

I watched this movie with my best friends when it hit the silver screen and it was worth every bit. With a love triangle in between three best friends, this movie is a rollercoaster ride filled with all sorts of emotions and feelings. This movie made my list because no matter what kind of person you are or background you come from, it doesn’t take much to be kind and extend a hand of friendship to someone – which is the general idea of this film. To add on, it has amazing hit songs that one can groove to with friends while watching!

Hangover – Parts 1, 2 and 3

Four friends gather together to go on a bachelor-party trip where they end up having the worst hangover of their lives; why wouldn’t this movie be on my list? I especially like the first part because I think it was the most legit hangover. The other parts also carry the same idea of these friends having hangovers and facing what-not with the after effects of it, so it continues to be a comedy on the go. This movie is especially recommended for guys and their ‘bros’.

Sex and the City – Parts 1 and 2

If I am going to recommend for the boys, then how can I forget my girls? This is a personal favorite of mine and my best friend’s, as we have watched this quite a few times, maybe because it’s easy to relate to. Four women all set in New York become friends and walk through the joys and struggles of life, hand-in-hand. For girls who think gossiping and slumber parties are what strengthen your friendship, this movie might just be a wakeup call for you. This film’s story portrays how women can have a real and deep connection with each other through good and bad.

Dil Chahta Hai

This movie is a classic Bollywood movie that every group of friends must watch; it is sort of like a rite of passage for eternal friendships. With a strong cast like Amir Khan, Akshay Khanna and Saif Ali Khan, this movie taught a lot of youngsters how friendship can bloom in the unlikeliest of places and that you don’t have to be similar in order to be great friends.

Cast Away

Most people would think “oh my God, why this depressing movie?” Well, here is my one and only reason. This certain film has a major impact on the importance of sharing your life with someone or something. The relationship between Tom Hanks and Wilson teaches you the value of friendship and to be grateful of it.

So this Friendship Day, pick up your friends and hit to the nearest cinema to enjoy the day. And if the cinema is full, crash on one of your friend’s place and have a blast while watching these movies.

Happy Friendship Day!
