Pakistan is currently in the midst of a fourth COVID-19 wave driven by the infectious Delta variant or B.1.617. This variant of COVID-19 was first reported in India which caused a devastating second wave. Later the variant exploded in the UK and is now being identified in 98 countries all around the world.

One of the biggest concerns during this infectious spread was that if fully vaccinated people should be concerned about delta variant? The answer is no, the chances of getting affected with this virus after getting fully vaccinated is super low. Studies have proven that two dosages of vaccine can reduce the activity of variant. But if you haven’t gotten vaccinated yet then the chances for you to get infected by this variant are extremely high.

The Delta variant is considered to be the “most transmissible” of the variants identified so far and is spreading 50% faster and is more contagious than the original Alpha (B.1.1.7). According to some studies, 99% of all COVID-19 deaths and hospitalization cases are unvaccinated people.
