Masks are easy to make at home with the available ingredients and should be used once or twice in a week to keep your skin healthy. A few masks have been listed below for particular skin types. Choose them according to your skin problems and skin type
For Acne
1. Nutmeg Mask
Ingredients:
- Honey: 1 teaspoon
- Cinnamon: 1 teaspoon
- Ground nutmeg: 1 teaspoon
Directions:
- Mix all the ingredients till the mixture turns into a paste.
- Increase the ratio of the ingredients as per requirement.
- Leave it on your face for 30 minutes and then wash it off with lukewarm water.
This mask works amazingly for acne and blackheads. Honey, nutmeg and cinnamon work as an antibacterial and antifungal, thus, work against bacteria that cause acne.
2. Oatmeal Mask
Ingredients:
- Water: ½ cup
- Oatmeal: 1/3 cup
- Yogurt: 2 tbsp.
Directions:
- Mix all the ingredients and make thick paste.
- Apply it all over your face.
- Massage it in circular motion and then leave it on to dry.
- Wash it off with cold water in 20 minutes.
This mask makes your skin glow and also helps you get rid of acne. It lightens up your skin tone and also removes blemishes.
3. Turmeric Mask
Ingredients:
- Turmeric powder: 1 teaspoon
- Yogurt: 4 teaspoon
- Honey: 1 teaspoon
Directions:
- Mix all the ingredients and apply it all over your face.
- Turmeric acts as anti bacterial that kills the bacteria that cause acne.
- Yogurt makes the skin glow and makes it smoother.
- Honey also soothes down your skin by helping you get rid of any sort of redness.
4. Egg Mask
Ingredients:
- Egg: 1
- Honey: 2 teaspoons
- Lemon juice: 1 teaspoon
Directions:
- Whisk the egg a little then add lemon juice and honey to it.
- Stir the mix till it becomes a paste.
- Apply this all over your face and neck. Leave it to dry and then rinse off with cold water. This mask fights bacteria, repairs skin and also lightens blemishes.
For Cleansing
1. Skin Feast Mask
Ingredients:
- Brown rice flour: 1 tablespoon
- Avocado: ½
- Apple juice: 1 tablespoon
Directions:
- Take a small bowl and mash the avocado and add rice flour to it.
- Make a paste by stirring and then add apple juice to it.
- Apply the mask onto your face and let it dry.
- Wash it off with warm water.
- This mask will cleanse your skin and bring out a natural glow.
2. Oil mask
Ingredients:
- Yogurt: 1 tablespoon
- Olive oil: 2 tablespoon
- Lemon oil: ½ teaspoon

- Massage your skin with the mixture of all the ingredients.
- Wash it off with a washcloth soaked in tepid water.
- This will leave your skin glowing and smooth.
This mask is for daily use. Harsh products cannot be used daily because they ruin your skin in various ways. This mask is a little sticky so be careful around the eyes.
3. Banana mask
Ingredients:
- Yogurt: ¼ cup
- Honey: 2 tablespoon
- Banana: 1 medium sized
Directions:
- Mash up the banana with a fork then add yogurt and honey to it.
- Mix all the ingredients to make a smooth paste.
- Apply the paste all over the face and neck.
- Leave it on for 20 minutes and then wash your face with cold water.
- This mask will moisturize your skin and make it softer.
- It is also a natural remedy for acne.
For Dry and Rough Skin
1. Yogurt mask
Ingredients:
- Yogurt: 1 teaspoon
- Orange juice: ¼ slice of orange
- Aloe vera: 1 teaspoon
Directions:
- Mix all the ingredients and apply the mask on your face.
- Leave the mask on for at least 5 minutes.
- Rinse it off with cold water.
- This mask cleanses the skin and tightens up the pores thus inhibits the formation of white heads.
2. Yeast mask
Ingredients:
- Yeast: 2 tablespoons
- Milk: ½ cup
- Honey: 1 teaspoon
Directions:
- Mix all the ingredients and form a smooth paste.
- Apply the paste on your neck and face.
- Let the mixture dry and then wash it off with cold water.
- This mixture smells a little bad so don’t freak out.
- This paste cleanses the skin and kills all the bacteria.
- The pores are tightened up and no blackheads are left behind.
3. Oats and Avocado
Ingredients:
- Oats: 1 tablespoon
- Avocado: 1 tablespoon (mashed)
- Honey: 1 teaspoon
Directions:
- Grind the oats a little then add avocado paste and honey.
- Mix all the ingredients and form a paste. Apply the mixture onto your face.
- Massage in circular motion and then leave it on for a while.
- Rinse off the mask with cold water after 20 minutes.
- Pat your skin dry.
- This mask scrapes off the dead skin and cleanses your skin.
- You don’t even have to apply moisturizer because the avocado has already done its magic.
For Oily Skin
1. Clay mask
Ingredients:
- Clay: 1 tablespoon
- Lemon juice: ½ teaspoon
- Water: 2 tablespoon
Directions:
- Mix all the ingredients and for a paste.
- Apply this paste onto your face and let it dry.
- Wash it off with cold water.
- This mask removes the oil from skin and makes it look fresh.
- Use this mask in the evening because the lemon juice can make your skin sensitive to sun.
2. Apricot mask
Ingredients:
- Apricot: 1
- Yogurt: 1 tablespoon
- Clay: ½ teaspoon
Directions:
- Mash the apricot in a blender, then add yogurt and clay to it.
- Mix all the ingredients to form thick paste.
- Apply this paste all over your face.
