Many of us attempt to become our best selves in the month of Ramzan. The month of countless blessings motivates us to be good, kind, patient and generous- traits we desperately need to linger around for the whole year. One of the most common gestures of generosity is being neighborly and sharing some of your iftar table items- the famous ‘iftar tray’- with your close neighbors.
Here are some unique ideas for your iftar tray that will have your neighbors feeling super grateful and impressed:

Stuffed dates
Skip the regular khajoor that everyone already has stocked in their fridge. To make stuffed dates, here’s what you need to do:
Prepare a stuffing-
- Peanut butter + cream + honey. Whip these together until light and fluffy
- Cottage cheese + honey + roasted almonds. Mix.
- Dark chocolate + sea salt + cream. Pour some hot cream over the dark chocolate and stir until melted. Sprinkle with a bit of sea salt and top with pistachios
Make a slit on one side of the date and remove the pit, using either a piping bag or a small teaspoon, fill the dates with the stuffing of your choice.
Not only do these taste unique and delicious, but they also look absolutely stunning.

Red Sauce Pasta
Pasta is an extremely popular choice for iftar trays but what most people tend to overlook is that white sauce pasta can sometimes become cold and clumpy by iftar time. A slightly spicy, red sauce pasta on the other hand, retains its sauciness and therefore, the flavor. Try this recipe for Penne Arabiatta, and we promise you will not be disappointed.
Badaam ka halwa
Halwas usually involve a lot of stirring and muscle power but the good thing is that you get a huge batch out of it- enough to distribute and keep a hearty portion for yourself. What’s more is that it’s one of those dishes that you are free to store in the fridge for up to a week. Badaam ka halwa is a slightly easier halwa that you won’t have to slave over for hours.
Greek chicken wraps/ Haleem
Since iftar is close to dinner hours this Ramzan, it’s great to have a more filling option on your tray. These wraps are not too heavy to have for iftar or for a post-iftar dinner. They’re easy to make, look great and taste amazing. If you feel that you’d rather prepare a one batch dish, then haleem is your safest choice.
