Even though Pakistan didn’t win any Olympic medals, we are still proud of our athletes. Below is the list of Pakistani athletes who participated in this year’s Tokyo Olympics championship.
Arshad Nadeem
Pakistani javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem finished 5th in the Men’s Javelin Throw at Tokyo Olympics. He is also the first-ever Pakistani athlete to qualify for the Olympics finals.
Talha Talib
The 21-year-old weightlifter from Gujranwala made his Olympics debut and finished fifth in the Men’s 67kg category.
Najma Parveen
Pakistani sprinter Najma Parveen, age 30, ran in heat 2 of the women’s 200m at the Tokyo Olympics and finished 7th. Her recorded timing was 28.12 seconds at the mega event.
Muhammad Haseeb Tariq
Pakistani swimmer Muhammad Haseeb Tariq, age 25, competed in Men’s 100m freestyle competition at Tokyo Olympics
Bisma Khan
Pakistani swimmer Bisma Khan, who is only 19 years old, finished 7th out of eight athletes with 27.78 seconds in the Women’s 50m freestyle competition at Tokyo Olympics.
Gulfam Joseph
Pakistani shooter Gulfam Joseph, who is only 21 years old, finished 9th in Men’s 10m Air Pistol competition in the Tokyo Olympics. During the competition, Gulfam started off rather mediocre but he picked up later and only missed the cut on his final shot.
Mahnoor Shahzad
The first Pakistani badminton player to compete at an Olympics Mahnoor Shahzad, age 24, competed in Women’s single at Tokyo Olympics.
Muhammad Khalil Akhtar
Pakistani shooter Muhammad Khalil Akhtar, age 37, competed in the Men’s 25m Rapid Fire Pistol competition at Tokyo Olympics. He was also the flag-bearer at the Opening Ceremony along with Mahoor Shahzad.
Shah Hussain Shah
Pakistani judoka Shah Hussain Shah, age 28, finished 13th in the 100kg Judo Competition of the Tokyo Olympics. He is also a son of the legendary Hussain Shah
Ghulam Mustafa Bashir
Another Pakistani Shooter Ghulam Mustafa Bashir, age 34, finished 10th with a total score of 579 in the Men’s 25m Rapid Fire Pistol competition at the Tokyo Olympics.
