Eid is all about celebrations and family gatherings. All the lunch and dinner plans add a little excitement to your daily life, but the thing that makes it so special is good food. Your Eid goes incomplete if there is no homemade dessert. Following are a few quick and easy desserts that you can try out this Eid.
Bread Kunafa
Ingredients:
- Sliced bread, 1 loaf
- Unsalted butter, 100g
- Thick cream, small pack
- Mozzarella cheese, ground one small pack
- Ground pistachios, for topping
Sugar Syrup:
- Sugar, 1 cup
- Water, 1 cup
- Lemon juice, 1 tsp
- Rose water, 1 tsp
- Orange blossom water, ½ tsp
Method:
- Grind the bread slices to make bread crumbs.
- Mix butter with the bread slices.
- Spread the melted butter over a pan and then place a layer of bread on it.
- Spread a layer of cream on the layer of bread and butter mixture.
- Sprinkle some shredded mozzarella cheese on top of it.
- Add the rest of the bread and butter mixture on top.
- Bake it in the oven for nearly fifteen minutes at 180C or till the top layer turns golden.
- Sprinkle ground pistachios over it and a bit of sugar syrup.
- Serve hot.
Sugar Syrup:
- Place sugar with water and lemon juice in a pan.
- Let the sugar get dissolved on high heat.
- Once the sugar gets dissolved, let it simmer for 10 minutes on low heat.
- Add rose water to it once you turn off the flame.
Vermicelli with Condensed Milk
Ingredients:
- Vermicelli, 50g
- Raisins, 1 tbsp
- Nuts, 2 tbsp
- Cardamoms, 2
- Condensed milk, 0.5 tin
- Fresh milk, ½ liter
- Butter, 1 tbsp
- Sugar, as per taste
Method:
- Fry vermicelli in butter in a non-stick pan.
- Fry them till they change color to light brown.
- Boil the fresh milk in a separate pan.
- After bringing milk to boil, add sugar and stir it till it gets completely get dissolved.
- Add condensed milk, dried fruits, cardamom and vermicelli to the milk.
- Leave it on the stove till the vermicelli become soft and is completely cooked.
- Once it gets soft, take it out in a bowl and the garnish it with sliced almonds and pistachios.
Sheer Khurma
Ingredients:
- Vermicelli, 1 whole packet
- Fresh milk, 1.5 liter
- Sugar, 1 cup
- Cardamom, 2
- Cardamom powder, ½ tsp
- Almond, 1 cup
- Fresh cream, ½ cup
- Saffron: 4 -5 strand
- Raisins, ½ cup
- Rose water, ½ tsp
- Butter, 1 tbsp
Method:
- Fry the vermicelli in a pan in butter till it changes color.
- Add sugar and mix well.
- Add the milk little by little and keep on stirring till the sugar gets dissolved completely.
- Stir in sugar, cardamom and raisins.
- Add all the ingredients except rose water and cream and then let it boil for a bit.
- Let it simmer on low heat after 10 minutes and then add cream and rosewater in one go.
- Reduce the mixture to your favorable consistency and then pour it into a bowl.
- Garnish with almonds and pistachios.
- Serve!
